Anyone else feeling the need to seriously detox now that Christmas is over? Don’t get me wrong, I am a complete foodie at heart, and I would NEVER deprive myself during the holidays just to maintain my abs [I’ve got so many layers on during the winter that you’d never even see them anyway]. But after a month of chocolate, cookies, bailey’s and wine, the idea of clean eating for a few weeks is pretty appealing.
Over the past few months, I’ve really gotten into smoothies. They are so easy in the mornings and they are totally customize-able to whatever your dietary needs are. Lately my breakfast of choice has been my Blueberry Banana Breakfast Smoothie. It’s a pretty standard smoothie, but what I love about my recipe is that it’s perfect for my individual needs. It’s also super filling and the green tea I add in there gives me an extra caffeine boost [win!]. But mostly I love it because consuming all those vitamins and minerals in the morning leaves me feeling like the ultimate health goodness.
